History of Exeter College AFC
Exeter have had only limited success throughout the history of inter-college football and have spent the majority of their time competing in the lower reaches of the college leagues. Their only Cuppers trophy was won in 1949 and their only other confirmed appearance in the final took place in 1987. After winning the division 2 title in 1998/99, Exeter narrowly failed to finish in the top half of the First division the following year and hence missed out on being a founder member of the Premier division. This was the closest that Exeter have come to being in the Premier division since and for the last 4 years have occupied positions in the bottom tier of college football. However, there are signs of a revival, and 2006/07 saw Exeter promoted after finishing runner-up in Division 2.
